Plain Cookies

     Here is another recipe from my grandma's collection.  These taste good plain or with frosting on top.  You can play around with the recipe to make it your own.

Plain Cookies:

3 c flour
1 c sugar
1 c lard
3 egg yolks
1/2 c sour cream
1/2 t salt
lemon rind & juice of one lemon
In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt.  Cut in the lard until you get course crumbs.  Add the egg yolks, sour cream, rind & lemon juice.  Roll out the dough until it is 1/4 inch thick.  Cut into desired shapes.  Frost if desired.
